About

Hi Internet,

my name is Pascal, born early '89, and I'm a master's student in Wuerzburg, Germany, studying the field of Human-Computer Interaction. Before that, I did my bachelor's in Media Engineering in Nuremberg. During this time I've worked at a Usability Engineering Center and spent some time working and studying abroad. I continued studying because I wanted to dive in deeper into the opportunities and challenges users are facing with all kinds of systems.

Here are some short facts (?) about me:

I've got a passion for all things technology and design. I admire and create art, be it photography, drawing or anything digital. Analyzing human behavior and developing enhancements to work and life routine is extremely inspiring and exciting. I've got a secret passion for physical product design.

I'm outgoing and social, communicative and a team player. If I'm set on a goal, I will pursue it in efficient and promising fashion until it is reached or reasonably proven to be wrong. I envision myself in development of user experiences with a view to the overall product in challenging soft- or hardware projects.

Projects / Design

This is a collection of tech projects and practical designs I've created or participated in. All of the examples shown were either done for university studies or as actual jobs. Jobs include employed work as well as commissioned work. Projects range from conception over implementation and programming up to usability testing. Since they often contain design elements that cannot strictly be separated, these two fields are merged into one category.

Arts

Art is one of my true passions. Creating art is an exhausting, while at the same time fulfilling process. The desire to finish a project can almost eat you up, while the constant fear of ruining your piece with the last strokes tries to keep you from proceeding. Overcoming this fear and laying an image on canvas that previously only existed in your mind is amazingly liberating. All of a sudden the stress is gone and turns into pride for what you've created.
Here I'd like to show you some of the pieces and projects I've taken on over time.

Photography

Photography is great. It is an incredible tool that allows you to exactly replicate the real world, while at the same time manipulate what can be seen, and thereby tell a story. This story can  be complete, leave room for imagination, transcend a feeling, be of purely visual nature or whatever else you can imagine. I've started taking photographs in 2010 when I got my first camera and have been loving it since. Following I'd like to show you a collection of pictures that i particularly like. They all have meaning to me, and are all telling a unique story. Go ahead and make it your own.
